Meg, a music manager, travels from New York to London to manage a boy band, Five Together, and find them a Christmas number one to bolster their flagging career. She finds a song on the internet posted by an ailing thirteen-year-old girl, Nina, and tries to obtain permission to have the song re-recorded by Five Together, but she discovers she has competition from the songwriter, Nina’s uncle Blake. What follows is a romantic comedy about two worlds colliding – with a young woman at the centre who desperately wants her uncle to find love and for his song to hit the number one spot by Christmas Day.

With the help of her daughter and a mute servant, phony psychic Madame Flora uses her clients' grief to deceive them. But one night, an uncanny encounter leads to murder and madness. Croatian National Theatre Zagreb’s production of The Medium offers enough suspense to rival any thriller in just one hour. Gian Carlo Menotti's musically eclectic English-language opera mixes Italian verismo with musical-like American modernity, as one might expect from a thoroughly American-Italian composer and man of theatre.
Abstraction about love and search, oblivion and rebirth. The story unfolds in a conventional space that vaguely resembles our world - one scene smoothly changes into another, and with it the characters of the characters and their relationships, music and visual images change.
Tchaikovsky’s much-loved music is matched to a story of magic on Christmas Eve, and the journey of Clara and her Nutcracker to the Land of Sweets brings with it some of the most familiar of all ballet moments. Peter Wright’s gorgeous production for The Royal Ballet keeps true to the spirit of this Russian ballet classic, and the many solo roles and ensembles show the world-class skills of the Company at its best.
The movie-documentary "Elza Infinita" follows the journey of singer Elza Soares. Its starting point is the musical Elza and the artists who were part of the cast, as they talk about Elza’s life and their own personal experiences.
Punk is not dead! Anyone who doesn't believe that punk is still alive and kicking in our times should check out the Stranglers' performance at Ground Control. The band released their 18th studio album Dark Matters in 2022. Dark Matters - an ode to darkness? The work was partly written with keyboardist Dave Greenfield, who died of Covid-19 in 2020. But even though it deals with themes such as grief, old age and politics, there is no need to fear gloomy music - on the contrary! The record captivates with the synth sounds and arpeggios typical of the Stranglers, which contributed to the success of their 1981 hit "Golden Brown" from the album La Folie. Their punk attitude is also still present. It is characteristic of the formation, which has been active from its beginnings in London pubs in 1974 to the current line-up with Jean-Jacques Burnel, Baz Warne and Jim Macauley.

Set over three days, Goody Goody Gumdrops is an absurd, comic observational musical documentary cum live album launch for Tropical Fuck Storm’s new album Deep States. Situated deep in Central Victoria on the banks of the Goulburn River at TFS HQ, we follow the band as they prepare for a rock show in their barn. Referencing the feel of the Australian Western and Australian Gothic (see Wake in Fright, The Cars That Ate Paris and Picnic at Hanging Rock) we travel with the band through their abject, weird and beautiful space. The weekend starts as the band welcomes you into their studio/cocktail lounge and teach you how to make their signature drink, The Tropical Fuck Fizz, then entertain you, Rat Pack style.
The set features songs from the Song Machine project, along with some revered classics from the group’s back catalogue. The full Gorillaz live band, plus a choice selection of featured artists, showcasing their first live performance since 2018. This is the first documentary about the singer Marijonas Mikutavičius. Marijonas Mikutavičius, who is celebrating his fiftieth birthday this year, has been on stage since he was 18 and his song "Trys milijonai (Three millions)" has been called Lithuania's second national anthem. In the film, director Eimantas Belickas allows the viewer to be with Marijonas in his intimate surroundings, without the mask. As one of the country's most popular singers, Marijonas is a man, a father, a Lithuanian citizen, just like many of us. The viewer can see this clearly in the film, but at the same time it becomes clear that creativity makes the singer a unique personality.
