Based on the chapter of Fire Cloud Cave, the movie tells the story of Red Child, who is naughty by nature and innocent at heart, being compelled by the Black Cloud Immortal to capture the Longevity Monk to make a reunion dinner for his parents. During the fight between Wukong and Red Child, Black Cloud Immortal takes the opportunity to take advantage of the situation and awakens the ancient demonic beast Taotie. Black Cloud Immortal manipulates Taotie to attack the Heavenly Court and the Spirit Mountain, stirring up the three worlds, and eventually, Wukong uses self-sacrifice to resolve the disaster, and at the same time, awakens the goodness in Red Child's heart.
