5 News is the news programme of British broadcaster Channel 5 produced by ITN from Channel 5's parent company Northern & Shell head office on Lower Thames Street in the City of London. From 1 January 2005, Sky News was awarded the contract to provide the news for Channel 5, replacing ITN, which had provided the channel's news service from the channel's launch in 1997. On 14 February 2011, the service was rebranded back to its original name, 5 News, having been called Five News from 2002 until 2011. On 20 February 2012 the contract returned to original provider ITN. The ITV press centre announced on 2 September 2011 that David Kermode, at-the-time editor, would leave 5 News in order to take up an editorial spot on Daybreak. He was replaced by Geoff Hill.

ITV Nightly News was a 20 minute newscast broadcast between 8 March 1999 – 1 February 2004 as a late evening news programme in the United Kingdom on the ITV network. It aired daily at 11:00pm, and was broadcast from the ITN studios in London. The launch of ITV Nightly News followed major changes to the scheduling of news programmes on ITV which saw the axing of ITN's highly popular and prestigious News at Ten programme which was replaced with the new flagship ITV Evening News programme to be broadcast at 6.30pm on weekdays. The changes proved to be very unpopular with viewers and due to a decline in ratings, ITV moved its late night bulletin back to 10pm for 3 nights a week and the programme was rebranded as ITV News at Ten in 2000. When the bulletin was relaunched at 10pm, the programme was initially successful, although, ratings gradually declined due to the scheduling of the bulletin as it often did not start at 10pm. The Money Wheel was a business news television program aired on weekdays on the CNBC network from its inception in 1989 until 1998. Initially, The Money Wheel covered almost all of the channel's business day hours, airing continuously from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET each day. The show's hours were later cut back to 10 a.m. to 12 noon and 2 to 3 p.m. ET as other programs were introduced to the schedule. The show gave viewers the latest market action on Wall Street as the trading day progressed. The Money Wheel was hosted by many anchors of CNBC, including Ted David, Felicia Taylor, Bill Griffeth, Sue Herera, Ron Insana, Terry Keenan, John Stehr and Kevin McCullough. Regular segments included Taking Stock where viewers could phone-in and ask the guest analysts' recommendations on certain stocks. As a result of CNBC's alliance with Dow Jones, the show was renamed Market Watch in the morning and was replaced by an extended Street Signs in the afternoon. At the time, most segments remained the same.

The series was hosted from its inception until 2006 by Tim Blanks, who left the show at the end of 2006 to join the Canadian fashion magazine Flare as editor-at-large. Over the winter of 2007, the CBC aired Fashion File Host Hunt, a short-run reality show in which ten finalists competed to become the new host of the show. Adrian Mainella was chosen as the new host of the series at the end of the Host Hunt. Other contestants included Peter Papapetrou, Manny Neubacher, Justin Singh, Paul Pogue, Mary Kitchen, Stephanie Pigott, Jamey Ordolis, Raji Sohal and Henrietta Southam. The judges were fashion magazine editors Bronwyn Cosgrave and Suzanne Boyd, and Fashion File executive producer Réjean Beaudin. The series was hosted by Michelle Mama. As of the end of March 2009, Fashion File was cancelled by CBC Television.

TVOntario announced the program's termination on June 29, 2006. The final episode aired on June 30, and was replaced that fall with a new series hosted by Paikin, The Agenda. Rather than a newscast style, Studio 2 tackled certain current news stories affecting many Canadians with a focus often on Ontario. Regular topics on the show included healthcare, federal politics, provincial politics, terrorism, foreign affairs, the environment, the arts and many others. The show usually performed a deep analysis, often with open discussions among experts or even interviewing specific figures involved in the issues. Also included were arts and current affairs documentary segments, live performance, and in-depth personal interviews.

It provided analysis of state and municipal politics as well as insight into state and regional issues in a current affairs journalistic style. The program was known for its interviews with politicians, and for its coverage of important regional issues. The ABC announced in December 2010 that the state-based current affairs program Stateline would be folded into a new 7.30 brand from March 2011. The change saw 7.30 extended to five nights a week, although Friday editions continue to be presented locally and focus on state affairs.

Venture is a weekly Canadian business television series that aired on CBC Television from 1985 to 2007. The show focused mostly on business documentaries, but also aired business-related news pieces. In the beginning, Venture was hosted by Patrick Watson, who previously hosted the controversial but wildly popular Sunday evening news program This Hour has Seven Days in the 1960s. More recently, the program was hosted by Robert Scully. Its most recent host was Dianne Buckner. One of Venture's more recent special features are documentary pieces called Back to the Floor, in which a chief executive officer is forced to work at an entry-level job within their own company for a day. CBC announced the cancellation of Venture on 4 April 2007. Episodes were broadcast on Sundays until 2 September 2007.

The programming was produced in partnership with CBS as a result of the former ownership of both networks by Viacom. It debuted in June 2005, when the channel began broadcasting. Occasionally the channel would air full half-hour specials on stories of interest to the LGBT community, such as the Gay Games, yearly gay pride events, the October 2006 ruling in the same-sex marriage case in New Jersey, Lewis v.
