The 100 Mile Challenge is a Canadian reality television series produced by Paperny Entertainment and aired on Food Network Canada. The series follows the lives and eating habits of six families living in Mission, British Columbia who, for a period of 100 days, agreed to only consume food and drink that has been grown, raised and produced within a 100-mile radius from Mission. The series is based on the concept of local food consumption as described in the book The 100-Mile Diet authored by J.B. MacKinnon and Alisa Smith where the two authors describe their experience of eating locally for one full year. To coincide with the premiere of the series, FoodTV.ca launched a companion website that Canwest described as "the largest, most innovative and interactive companion website to a series to date". It was hosted by Edward Mulhare and dealt with topics of a paranormal nature, as well as mysterious historical events. It was similar to the 1970s/1980s series In Search of.... "Secrets of the Unknown invites you into the world of the bizarre, strange, and unusual. From ninjas who are said to transform into panthers, to the peculiar myths and rituals surrounding King Tut's tomb, to Hitler's occult connections, these documentaries provide a rich visual showcase for unexplained phenomena." The series consisted of 26 episodes, written by Erik Nelson and produced by Craig Haffner. It was released on home video in the late 1980s to the early 2000s under the title Secrets of the Unknown.

ASBO Teen to Beauty Queen was a reality television about nine teenagers from Manchester, who were trained by Michelle Fryatt, a former American beauty queen, to compete in the Miss Teen International 2006 beauty pageant in Chicago. Each week, the participants faced a series of tasks designed to prepare them to compete in the pageant and at the end of each episode, girls were eliminated from the series. In the last programme, the final three girls flew to Chicago and one was selected as the first Miss Teen England International to enter the pageant. The series was produced for Five by North One Television and has been syndicated on the Swedish Channel TV400 as "Från värsting till skönhetsdrottning".
