This programme used to be available exclusively in Asia-Pacific, South Asia and Middle East but, as of a 1 February 2010 revamp, is now aired worldwide. It is also currently aired on the UK's domestic BBC News channel 3 times daily in the early hours of the morning as part of the Newsday programme. It is broadcast from the BBC's Singapore bureau which is in the central business district of Singapore. The main presenters are Rico Hizon and Sharanjit Leyl. Mishal Husain once presented this programme but has since returned to Britain to present the main BBC News bulletin for BBC World News.

Midday was a television newsmagazine series on CBC Television, which ran from January 1985 to 2000, replacing local noon-hour newscasts on CBC stations. The show, which aired from noon to 1 p.m. on weekday afternoons, presented a mix of news, lifestyle and entertainment features. The show would open with a 10-minute CBC News summary, usually read by Sheldon Turcotte in the news studio, and then move to another studio for the main segment of the program. The news summary would later become a simulcast of the CBC Newsworld hourly news update that was live for each time zone. Its original hosts were Bill Cameron, Keith Morrison and Valerie Pringle. The original producer was Michael Harris and the series was directed for its first four seasons by Sidney M. Cohen, who later became executive producer of Canada AM for CTV. News Central was a primetime newscast on Sinclair television stations in the United States, mixing locally produced news with nationally produced news and an opinion segment from Sinclair's Hunt Valley, Maryland studios. News Central ended all newscasts effective March 31, 2006, which, after that date, its stations either did their newscasts entirely on their own, outsourced their newscast to a larger station in the market, or cancelled their newscasts entirely. Others, like WSMH, teamed up with non-affiliate stations in their market to either simulcast other stations' newscasts, or produce a news program in conjunction of the two stations. It provided analysis of state and municipal politics as well as insight into state and regional issues in a current affairs journalistic style. The program was known for its interviews with politicians, and for its coverage of important regional issues. The ABC announced in December 2010 that the state-based current affairs program Stateline would be folded into a new 7.30 brand from March 2011. The change saw 7.30 extended to five nights a week, although Friday editions continue to be presented locally and focus on state affairs.

TA NEA TOY ANT1 is a famous news television programme in Greece aired by ANT1 since 1992 and is currently hosted by Giannis Papadopoulos as well as the rest of the ANT1 News Team. The Youth News Network was a failed venture by Athena Educational Partners that attempted to create a daily news program that would be broadcast into high school classrooms across Canada. Much like the more successful Channel One News service in the United States, Athena hoped that YNN would be able to generate revenue by selling commercial time during its daily classroom broadcasts. The idea of showing commercials in the classroom proved to be very controversial -- YNN met strong resistance from a variety of groups. The service was eventually banned from being shown in schools in six provinces. In response to public pressure, Athena announced in May 2000 that it would show public advocacy messages instead of commercials. At some point in 2001 the company ceased to exist.

Calendar is a weekday news and information program that aired in the United States on CBS Television from 1961 to 1963. Harry Reasoner and Mary Fickett co-hosted the program. Each show began with Reasoner giving a summary of the latest news and then introducing the topic for the day, which was presented by Fickett. CBS scheduled the half-hour program in the 10 a.m. timeslot on the East Coast. Since the network then believed women were the primary audience for daytime television, it created a substantive information program geared toward a female audience. A review in TV Guide commended Reasoner for not oversimplifying the news and noted that Fickett contributed "as another intelligent questioner and commentator" rather than someone who just represented "the woman's side." It was produced out of the studio of CHAN-TV in Burnaby, British Columbia. There were two versions of the newscast; the one seen outside BC was anchored by Tony Parsons, and the one seen in that province was anchored by Bill Good. The BC version, seen only on BCTV, featured more stories related to Vancouver and BC, as well as local weather and some national news reports sourced from CTV, which WIC's other stations were unable to use.

The series, which first aired in 1994, primarily concentrated on investigative and documentary reports about media and technology, such as examining media coverage of controversial issues. Mesley won two Gemini Awards for her work on Undercurrents, in 1999 and 2001. In 2001, Undercurrents was folded into the new series CBC News: Disclosure, cohosted by Mesley and Diana Swain. First National was a Canadian television newscast, which aired on the Global Television Network's stations in Ontario and Manitoba from 1994 to 2001. It was also seen in Quebec after Global launched there in 1997. The program's anchor was Peter Kent. Although the newscast aired in only three provinces at most, its format was that of a national newscast, broadcasting national and international, rather than local, news. On February 9, 2001, following Global's acquisition of the WIC group of stations, First National aired its final broadcast. Global aired WIC's Canada Tonight in its place until Global National debuted on September 4. Kent then moved into a management role with the network; he later left broadcasting to pursue a career in Canadian politics.

Howard K. Smith: News and Comment was a half-hour ABC news and documentary program hosted by commentator Howard K. Smith, which aired from February 14, 1962, to June 16, 1963. It was broadcast at the 10:30 Eastern time slot on Sundays opposite CBS's long-running quiz show, What's My Line?, hosted by John Charles Daly, himself the first ever ABC News anchorman. In 1961, Smith left CBS News because of a dispute about a documentary that he produced on police violence against civil rights demonstrators in Birmingham, Alabama. He then joined ABC, where his contract stipulated that neither the network nor sponsors could interfere with the content of his program. While at CBS, Smith hosted the documentary program Behind the News with Howard K. Smith for twenty-one weeks from January 11 to September 20, 1959.
