The old yellow-stained photos awakens the recollection of the memory of an old Russian soviet lady comrade, named, Sulla, whom when she was young once worked for the Soviet as an intelligence personnel who was held hostage by the Japanese near the end of the Second Sino Japanese war in 1945, when the Russian joined the Chinese to drive out the Japanese. This period was when the Chinese was on the counterattacking side against the Japanese, though the war had not yet subsided. Her old recollective memories recalls starts here when the Russian enlisted a specially trained Chinese squad that was trained in Russia, lead by Captain Luo Feng, to lead a team of six to advance into the crisis-ridden Japanese-occupied areas and rescue her (when she was young), an important Soviet intelligence comrade.

In the 1944 Hengyang defense battle, the 10th Army of the Chinese front battlefield, with a force of less than 18,000 people, defended the city alone against the Japanese army with a total strength of 110,000 people outside the city for 47 days. The Chinese army suffered more than 16,000 casualties and the Japanese army suffered more than 48,000 casualties, creating the only record of the comparison of enemy and our forces and casualties since the War of Resistance. It dealt a heavy blow to the Japanese army's No. 1 operation launched by the Japanese headquarters and became a battle case comparable to any battle in World War II.

Reaching there, Bahar finds a diary of a girl at her age called Maryam which was written in the same day, 30 years ago; 2 days before the first day of schools, and also the start of Iran-Iraq war! The girlish joy that Maryam describes in the first pages of the diary, the sudden invasion of enemies to their town, and finally her love story which is mentioned in the diary, motivates Bahar to continue reading it. Maryam was in love with a young intern who was working in the town's only clinic. Now Bahar thinks that the intern could be his father.
