On the day of the Alasitas festival (fair of wishes) Pukito, an Andean boy who lives with his uncle, who is a relative with alcoholism problems. The boy goes to work playing music in the main square of the town, a mysterious woman helps him with a gold coin, the uncle sees him and is happy. After the day's work, Pukito goes to buy bread, and in an empty street, he is intercepted by some vandal children, who take his money and break his musical instrument. The boy waits for his uncle at home, who arrives drunk and demands the money.
