Featured here, among others, are Viola Desmond, a woman who insisted on keeping her seat at the Roseland movie theatre in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia in 1946 rather than moving to the section normally reserved for the city's Black population, and Fred Christie, who took his case to the Supreme Court after being denied service at a Montreal tavern in 1936. These brave pioneers helped secure justice for all Canadians. Their stories deserve to be told.

The desire, demand, and need for a full length girls skate film became a reality as they met girls from all over the country and world, whose talents deserve to be showcased. Erik and Monique, along with a few of the skaters, decided to quit their day jobs and dedicate their lives to making this film. “Quit Your Day Job” hopes to change the perception of what female skateboarders are capable of, and inspire a new world of possibility for the next generation.
